Unit 6 Discussion 2 Marketing & Leadership

Q For our second discussion this week, we will focus on how your company can become irrelevant in its market without the leadership being aware of it – until it’s too late. This is a good – and very embarrassing in public business circles – example of poor interpretation of forward looking metrics which results in diminishing customer value over time. There are three companies mentioned in this recent article and I am sure you are all aware of the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index. For this discussion let’s focus on Bank of America. Could this happen to your company? I look forward to a lively discussion. http://www.forbes.com/sites/adamhartung/2013/09/12/out-with-a-whimper-alcoa-hp-b-of-a-and-the-djia/#7d97e02475c8

I think that the loss of importance for Bank of America can also be the case for my company in future. This is because there can be situations when customers, competitors, organizational members, and stakeholders might lose interest or not be very much interested to think or speak positively about the company. It is important to take feedback from every organizational member by my organization so that the issues with every organizational member can be identified as much as possible. There must be segregation of the most common issues and the rare issues done in a list. This list must be shared with every organizational member personally/individually and also in meetings.
